Chess Olympiad 2010: Armenia men, women outside top finishers

A draw with France in the closing round of the World Chess Olympiad has stopped Levon Aronyan and company from finishing among, or close to, the top three in the tournament’s Open Section.

Aronyan won his game with black pieces on the first board, but Vladimir Hakobyan lost with white pieces on the second, with Gabriel Sargsyan and Arman Pashikyan tying their games on the third and fourth boards, respectively. The results set the final score in the Armenia v France match at 2-2.
