Official Release: Armenian, Azeri FMs meet at an OSCE summit in Athens

Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan held a meeting with his Azerbaijani counterpart Elmar Mamedyarov as well as mediators spearheading international efforts on Karabakh settlement Monday evening, on the eve of the start of the 17th Session of the OSCE Ministerial Council in Athens, Greece, reports the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Armenia.

Nalbandyan arrived in the Greek capital earlier that day to attend the meeting of the organization of which both Armenia and Azerbaijan are members.

First, Nalbandyan held a meeting with the cochairmen of the OSCE Minsk Group Yuri Merzlyakov (Russia), Bernard Fassier (France) and Robert Bradtke (USA), as well as the personal representative of the OSCE chairman-in-office, Andrej Kasprzic.

Later, the cochairmen-organized meeting between Nalbandyan and Mamedyarov took place in the format of a working dinner.

The possibility of a statement on Nagorno-Karabakh to adopted at the OSCE Ministerial Council meeting was discussed during the meeting.

The same day Nalbandyan also met with OSCE Parliamentary Assembly special representative on Nagorno-Karabakh Goran Lenmarker. The sides reportedly discussed the latest developments in the negotiating process over the settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict.

Both Nalbandyan and Mamedyarov were expected to address the session of the OSCE Ministerial Council later on Tuesday.
