“King Arthur” Abraham won his 32-nd victory.
“King Arthur” Abraham (32-2, 26 KO’s) escaped possible defeat Saturday in a contest he was expected to dominate against little known 36-year-old Stjepan Bozic (24-5, 15 KO’s) at the RWE-Ruhr Sporthalle, Muelheim, Nordhein-Westflaen, Germany.
The former middleweight king and Showtime Super Six contestant Abraham looked no better than his lower tier opponent, according to ringside observers including www.boxingnews24.com which said the Armenian (by way of Germany) “might as well concede defeat” to WBA super middleweight champion Andre Ward in his next fight, “because he just doesn’t have the size, the speed, the skill or the talent to beat a guy like Ward”.
The scheduled 10-rounder against Bozic was stopped in the second round when the Croat injured his left hand on one of his blows to Abraham.
The Yerevan “king” is expected to meet American Andre Ward (23-0, 13 KO’s) on May 14, in Helsinki, Finland.
