The Government of Armenia’s focus will remain on villagers and farmers Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan said in Gyumri Tuesday, while stumping for his Republican Part of Armenia in “pre-election” meetings ahead of May’s vote for parliament seats.

Sargsyan’s cabinet has spent considerable efforts on propping up Armenia’s crippled farming industry since 2010’s disastrous output that saw a 14 percent decline.

The premier promised investments on road construction and the continuation of stte programs for subsidized loans for rural residents.
