First Armenia lost to Finland 0-7 and then on Wednesday Samvel Adamyan’s charges lost to Italy with an identical score. Last month Armenia suffered two defeats at home to Italy 0-8 and Slovenia 1-5. The coach has explained the defeats by lack of experience of participation in such tournaments. “We need at least two or three years to change the situation. We view this tournament as a stage to prepare for the upcoming European championships,” Adamyan said in a recent interview. Armenia are currently bottom in their group that besides the above mentioned teams also includes Portugal. Also last month, Armenia’s U-17 team lost all games in the group stage of the European qualification tournament with scores more in line with American football - 0-12 to Serbia, 0-19 to Russia, and 0-21 to Spain.
