Protestor on scene tells of melee

Aramazd Manukyan, who was at Liberty Square this morning when police cleared the encampment has spoken to ArmeniaNow with his account of the event.

Manukyan, 33, said that he, his father Vanik, 60 and brother Mher, 32 were all injured. Manukyan says he has a 3-centimeter cut in his head from being struck by a policeman’s baton, but that he did not go to hospital for fear of being arrested.

According to Manukyan, forces approached the encampment from two sides at about 6:10 a.m.. Between 700 and 1,000 people were in the square at the time.
