5 a.m.
News about action by law enforcement stirs in the camp at Liberty Square where hundreds of oppositionists have been holding nightly vigils for 10 days.  

6 a.m.
Police units surround the square and enter.

7 a.m.
Clashes ensue as opposition leader Levon Ter-Pertroysan urges calm.


At 6:45 a.m. unarmed police forces entered the Liberty Square to examine the site, asking oppositionists not to create any obstacles.

The operations of the police forces were impeded by the encamped. The protestors provoked a clash by throwing stones at the policemen and using iron sticks and clubs.



At about 6 a.m. police, special forces and other governmental enforcement took over the Liberty Square.

Around 7 a.m. with no warning, the security forces equipped with truncheons, tear gas, and electric stun guns, started severely beating people in the encampment driving them from their tents.
